About Location Free Living

We learned to ask better questions after life forced the issue.

Location Free Living exists because women should not have to wait for a layoff, divorce, or retirement deadline to understand the money they already own.

Two sisters. Two wake-up calls. One shared realization.

The retirement money was always ours to direct. We simply had not been shown how to understand the choices—or how many choices might exist.

Becca

Co-founder

After a 20-year corporate career and years of contributing to a 401(k), being made redundant forced Becca to decide what would happen to the retirement money she had built. She discovered that handing it back to another traditional manager was not the only path.

Learning about self-directed retirement investing opened a larger question: could those assets help build the future life she was already moving toward? She had to learn the structure, language, rules, and risks from scratch. Location Free Living is her way of making that learning curve less lonely and less confusing for the next woman.

Co-founder

A difficult divorce made Jen confront how little visibility she had held into the financial decisions shaping her own household. Rebuilding meant more than recovering. It meant learning to ask questions, understand her options, and participate fully in decisions about her future.

Her perspective keeps Location Free Living grounded in the real reason this work matters: financial knowledge is not about becoming an expert. It is about having enough clarity and confidence to remain present when consequential decisions are being made.
